Futuristic Weapons (Sniper Rifles)

This weeks Assignment
<< Futuristic Weapon
 As there is large quantity
of weapons around I will focus
on my Favourite "Sniper Rifle"
In future this will be one of few
projectile weapons, as a sniper you
don't want people to know where the
shot came from so a high velocity projectile
is best suited for the task as it doesn't leave
any trails behind.

My weapon design primarily focused on the
on the magazine of the weapon and how magazine
can be utilized to increase the fire rate and reliability
of a sniper rifle. No moving mechanisms means that
the gun wont get stuck in when it gets dirty ; as there
is no mechanism fire rate is not limited to it.

Silhouettes ! Feng Zhu way !

Today we worked through a video of Feng Zhu , which showed us how to use silhouettes to create interesting concepts.

Feng Zhu was always my inspiration. I used to watch allot of his tutorials on how to do things to create concept art and is one of the reasons why I want to do concept art...
About the drawing, I really liked how all of the design came up, although I could've made the silhouettes sharper.
I also didn't like how the colour version turned out, I feel like the colours I used were too bright.

Turret :D Improving with Maya

Today we Modelled a Turret in Maya.

I found the task of modelling to be quite easy...
as it primarily requires you to build up shapes until you have the desired one...
The procedure was easy but sometimes when over used certain tools I would find that there would be too many vertices made...which results in some funny scenarios when working with the model.

UV mapping YAY

Another Lynda Homework :D
This time the focus was UV mapping...
I was asked to model tools
( crow bar and a hammer)
Well I learned a valuable lesson of saving frequently ...
now I literally hold my hand over ctrl +v  to save.
So models done the tutorial went on to UV mapping
which I found quite enjoyable.
I didn't find any problems with the
UV mapping segment of the tutorial.
The above are the tools after I put the
textures on top of them :D
