Frog Assigment

I started this assignment with some research on what makes frogs, frogs.
Mainly:
Head Shape
Eye Shape
Leg Structure
Fingers
I then started to sketch out some ideas for a frog creature/character.
I wasn't aware at the time that the creature needs to be Anthropomorphic.
I continued with sketching and refining the perspective of the frog and its
design.
After finalizing the sketch I added some textures with skins of the frogs to add
vivid colours to the design.
I painted over the textures to blend them in to the design and
perspective.
So the design didn't follow the brief precisely as I focused on the mount rather than the Anthropomorphic frog design.
I like how the textures helped me to achieve the look of the skin on the creature.
I feel like the shadow is a bit out of place but that can be easily fixed in my future
concepts.
I also think the character on top doesn't really fit the perspective of the frog very well.

Christmas Break Work 2014 :D

Glider Design :D
I like how the Glider came out. Its probably not practical in the real world,
but could work in fantasy.
The question is how far can I push the designs? so they are not completely
out of this reality/ But do they have to be? Do they have to really on the
physics of real world?

Body Study / Character design
I pushed the curves slightly to show the feminine side of this character.
While posing her in an aggressive stance.
I feel like the upper body is a bit small when compared to the rest of the body
and her face feels flat.
I wanted her to have the look of a fighter from underground.

I noticed most of my Studies up to this point focused on the proportions of the body
so over the Christmas break I decided to look more in to the characters facial
expressions and their face/hair designs. I spent small amount of time on other
details like outfits.

I still looked at how the female and male bodies differ but I also looked at them in
closer detail like face and hair.

Other than bodies I studied composition, to be more specific how would
I place the character in the scene.

I though I done fair enough of studies and I feel like I'm improving bit by bit.

Halloween ! Monster !

The theme for this weeks design is Monster,
as Halloween is near.

<<<<<<  MONSTERS!

I didn't know where to start with the monster.
One of the things that I had in mind was that
it should be humanoid.

So it begun...
<<<<

I really liked the feel of the Wraith like female
monster, so I decided to develop it further by
joining the two female sketches into a final
outcome.
After the optional session with Jack Eaves I decided to work more over my final
presentation of the Wraith and remove most of the line art. The final result:

Silhouettes ! Feng Zhu way !

Today we worked through a video of Feng Zhu , which showed us how to use silhouettes to create interesting concepts.

Feng Zhu was always my inspiration. I used to watch allot of his tutorials on how to do things to create concept art and is one of the reasons why I want to do concept art...
About the drawing, I really liked how all of the design came up, although I could've made the silhouettes sharper.
I also didn't like how the colour version turned out, I feel like the colours I used were too bright.

Tentacles!

Tentacles Monster first I researched what animals have tentacles in real world...
I found that its mostly underwater creatures that poses tentacles.
I thought it would be a great idea to move the tentacles on to a land creature ...
So I researched Some land creatures that I wanted to put tentacles on....

After Research I started to sketch out some ideas for the tentacle Monsters... I feel like my ideas were really impacted by what I seen in past movies and games.

I really like the beaver looking sketch.... don't ask ... no Idea how it came out like this xD Didn't realize it was a beaver until someone told me that xD

For my final I went with the sketch I liked the most and refined the way the tentacles interacted with the main body. I still think that I should work in to it more to make it look better... especially the tentacles...

might come back to it and refine it at some point ... :P
