Lava Monster. Follow Up

For this week we were assigned to do a Lava monster of our own

rather than painting over an existing one. I didn't want to be influenced by 

any concept art I decided to not have any research before hand.

I went straight in to the design of my lava monster. 

After I had my 3 designs sketched out I started to look at the colour

schemes I could use for my Monster.

I picked few different ones from the texture of rocks.

I would think that lava monster would be made out of mostly rocks.

That is why I focused on a rocky design.

I then applied the different colour schemes to the 3 designs I had.

I finalized my design by adding lava effect to my Rock Monster.

To turn him in to legit Lava Monster.

The Idea behind him is that his a fire spirit that has lost his

physical form and was forced to create a body out of rock to remain

an existence in the human world.

Design:

The monster joints between floating parts of the body could be better represented.

I could also use some texture to make the monster more realistic looking, as it look a

bit cartoon like.
